Wine Minds Apprentices announced for 2020

We are excited to announce that Paulina Wisniewska, from Hawksmoor Seven Dials, and Ida Panaro, from The Dairy and Counter Culture in London’s Clapham, are this year’s successful Wine Minds Apprentices.

An initiative that gives up-and-coming hospitality stars the chance to advance their careers with a part-time, one-year education scheme, both Ida and Paulina will receive WSET L3 training, a bespoke harvest internship with a leading producer, as well as a full calendar of masterclasses and trips to a host of wineries around the world.

Part of the wine team at Hawksmoor Seven Dials, Paulina is passionate about the winemaking process from land to glass, and is always looking for new ways to broaden her wine knowledge. She says, “I am very excited for this year. It's a great opportunity to get a more complete picture of wine and the wine industry. I am especially excited about visiting and meeting producers, to get a feel for what makes them unique.”

Ida says; “Learning about wine is more than a job for me – it’s my life and hobby too. Since moving to London from Puglia, I have tasted some amazing wines, and I love working in hospitality – every time you come into work, you get the chance to make someone’s day a little bit better. I am excited to be part of this year’s apprenticeship programme; I love to travel and look forward to discovering new wines and regions, and to taste a lot of wine.”

In addition to attending various tastings and producer visits over the year, Ida and Paulina will both complete a harvest internship at leading Bibendum producers in the second half of the year: Domaine de la Pinte in France’s Jura and Bodegas Bhilar in Spain’s Rioja.

About The Wine Minds Programme

It gives participants an in-depth and unique knowledge on specific topics with a combination of industry events, tastings and masterclasses hosted by experts from around the globe.

This ongoing programme is open to all hospitality workers in the UK who are still busy climbing the career ladder and have a good basic knowledge of wine.
