Big and brooding, this is a spicy and aromatic, cool-climate Shiraz, showing fragrant black pepper and spices blended with dark fruits and mocha chocolate. The wine is aged in mostly new French oak barriques (225 litres) and hogsheads (300 litres) for about 20 months. The high levels of sunshine, altitude of the vineyards at 350-400 metres and the cooling influence of the Southern ocean enhances the wine's elegance, freshness and complexity.
