The roots of Llopart can be traced all the way back to 1385, when family ancestor Bernardus Leopardi was granted some vineyards in the Subirats region of Catalonia. In the following centuries, the Llopart family cultivated a variety of traditional Mediterranean products like grapevines, wheat and olives before devoting themselves to grape-growing and winemaking at the end of the 18th century.
Today, the Llopart vineyards are 100% certified organic and the estate comprises 500ha, of which 95ha planted to vineyards. Llopart’s wines are produced by winemaker and fifth generation of family cava maker, Pere Llopart. The cava is a craft, artisanal product and new technology has only been introduced to further improve quality.
