Inspired by Champagne and motivated by his winemaking studies in Montpellier, Giulio Ferrari’s vision was unwavering: to make the finest Metodo Classico sparkling wines in Italy.
To this day, the wines of Ferrari are a reflection of their creator’s vision, known and celebrated around the world as the pinnacle of Italian Methode Traditionelle wine. The Linelli family, hand-picked by heirless Giulio Ferrari, have run the winery since 1952 and are producing some of the most complex and delicious sparkling wines, of any kind, to emerge from Italy.
Today, the Lunelli family continues to innovate, safeguarding the environment as well as the health of those who work in the vineyards. In 2017 they recieved Organic Certification for all company owned vineyards. Their broader sustainability project, titled “Ferrari’s Vineyards, for Sustainable and Healthy Mountain Viticulture” requires their 500 vine-growers in Trentino to stick to a total ban on the use of chemical herbicides and fertilisers in favour of traditional practices such as green manuring, natural fertilisers like manure and compost, and only the use of extremely safe plant health products made from natural ingredients.
