Cellier des Princes

Cellier des Princes is the sole and unique co-operative cellar in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation.

Founded in 1925, Cellier des Princes originated as a group of winegrowers agreeing to team up, in the name of fraternity and solidarity. These initial winegrowers proved to be some of the most important figures in the history of the region, with many of them involved in the creation of France's first AOC just 11 years later: Chateauneuf du Pape.

The co-operative today encompasses 240 growers, who combine to produce and deliver almost 750ha of grapes every vintage. The majority of production is dedicated to red wines, although some whites are also included in the range. In 2017, the winery saw a turning point in the appointment of Philippe Cambie, a renowned oenologist, as consulting partner. Under his watchful eye, Cellier des Princes has begun to see a qualitative ascent that lives up to its iconic appellation.
