Bodegas Estevez is a sentimental investment in the Bierzo region; a return to the homeland and nurturing of an inheritance.
The artisan family-run winery in Bierzo, Galica was founded when the family returned to their home after their exile to Mexico during the Spanish Civil War. Since then they have firmly reconnected their roots in the region, with 7ha of hillside planted vineyards producing grapes from an average of 90-year-old vines.
They are best known for their Mencia and Godello, as well as their single vineyard wines that exemplify the diversity of the terroir across their estate. In particular, the single vineyard Mencia is the perfect example of the grape’s diversity and the uniqueness of the terroir on which it is grown. Many of their village wines are made in Crianza style, adding complexity to make them more gastronomic than many wines from this region.
