Tasting Editions: Eco Warriors

We are excited for the return of our Tasting Editions, with our sixth installment focusing on producers who go that little bit further to protect the planet and our people, our Eco Warriors.

In addition to tasting the delicious, mindfully crafted wines, why not join us for a panel discussion to uncover the ‘Innovations in Sustainability’? Co-chaired by our wine trading director, Harriet Kininmonth, and wine writer and co-founder of LITTLEWINE, Christina Rasmussen, this hour-long session will also feature some of our fiercest Eco Warriors.

Please join us to hear more from: Winemaker Toni Sarrion from Bodegas Mustiguillo, where organic production and a relentless focus on reviving the indigenous grapes of Valencia are at the order of the day; Tom Hanson-Smith of Journey’s End in South Africa’s Stellenbosch, where it’s all about a holistic approach to sustainability, from being Fairtrade certified to becoming a founding member of the Sustainability Wine Roundtable; and David Sampedro Gil of Bodegas Bhilar in Rioja Alavesa, who not only farms organically and biodynamically, but built a minimal intervention winery that is completely powered by solar panels.

Unpicking various innovations in sustainability, the discussion will focus on using grape varieties to combat climate change, looking at packaging innovations and the issue of consumer perception, and considering the role and evolution of sustainable certifications.

Join us at 2pm for the panel discussion, with the tasting kicking off from 3pm.
