What to pair with your eggs this Easter

How do you like your eggs in the morning? With a shot of hazelnut liqueur, perhaps?

We will soon all be tucking into a feast of chocolate egg goodness and it can be tricky to decide what to pair with all those sweet flavours. So we’ve done the (hard) work for you…

Three things to remember:

1. Sweet likes sweet – creamy, sweet foods like white chocolate go best with sweeter drinks, so pair white chocolate with an intense sweet red or dessert wine.

2. Match the sweetness intensity – a rich, dark chocolate will match well with a rich drink such as a porter or a full-bodied red ale.

3. Avoid dry wine – dry wine can seem very bitter when paired with sweet food, so choose something with higher residual sugar like a dessert wine or a liqueur.

Three amazing pairings:

Whether you’re a white chocolate fiend or you prefer darker, bitterer chocolate, we’ve got you covered.
