Harvest 2022: Brazil

Brazil reported a fantastic vintage – one that stands with the exceptional harvests of 2018 and 2020, despite a dry spring and drought summer.
Miolo
Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Miolo is celebrating their 2022 vintage after two long months, with fruit of outstanding quality, standing with the exceptional harvests of 2018 and 2020. Throughout an intense winter, a dry spring and a drought, very hot summer, Miolo’s team expertly tended the vines, growing pure and vibrant grapes that went into the production 16 million bottles of wine.
It is no secret that good wines start at the vineyard, and naturally we can highlight the varieties you should look out for according to where they’ve grown. In Miolo’s case, Chardonnay did brilliantly across all three sites, but the same didn’t apply to other varieties:
Vale dos Vinhedos: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Seival (Campanha Meridional): Chardonnay, Alvarinho, Pinot Noir, Touriga Nacional, Merlot and Tannat.
Almadén (Campanha Central) : Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinotage, Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Tannat.
