Producer: Stellenrust

Stellenrust bottled its first wine on the farm in 1928. Today the winery is run by the brothers Tertius (winemaker) and Kobus (viticulturist), and is one of the largest family-run Fairtrade estates in Stellenbosch, with 500 hectares of land under vine.  The brothers are committed to following their father’s dream: to give back to the workers, who themselves had given so much to the farm.

Wild yeast strains are used to ferment the grapes in oak barrels. 9 months' primary lees contact during barrel ageing. 8% of the grapes are affected by botrytis cinerea.
