Product guide note

This wine is called “Methode Ancienne” because it is made in an old-fashioned style, much like the way traditional French winemakers make their wine. The end result is a toasty, full-bodied wine with tropical fruit flavours and a hint of creaminess.

Production information

Producer: Springfield Estate

Springfield Estate goes against the grain in order to make sure the drinking experience is perfect at the consumer end and sustainable at its end. The wines are all about the rocky, unforgiving terroir of Robertson, and stand head and shoulders above most producers for sheer quality.

Production note

The grapes are harvested at night in order to ensure the bright fruit flavours are retained. Fermentation occurs in oak barrels with lees contact to give the wine a creamy texture.
