Barbaresco comes from the northwest of Italy, and is made from Nebbiolo, which is the same grape variety used to make Barolo.

Produced and bottled in a state of the art winery in Priocco, Riva Leone is a fantastic example of modern Italian winemaking at its best.

The name Riva Leone is taken from the name of a wine merchant from Alba in Northern Italy, who at the beginning of 20th century decided to bottle the wine that he sold on tap to his clients.  The house portrayed in the label shows his shop in the countryside of Alba.

Production note

Grapes are macerated for 8 to 12 days at 28-33°C with daily pumping over. The wine is aged in barrels for 12-18 months (in both new and used French oak barrels) before bottling.
