This wine is from the Walker Bay region of South Africa. It is made from mainly the Pinot Noir grape variety and is a light style of rosé. The wine is full of raspberry and cherry fruit with a clean refreshing mouth feel.

The Newton Johnson family has been at the heart of Cape winemaking for many years, but only recently took the plunge and set up its own estate. The winery is based near the seaside town of Hermanus, an hour and a half’s drive out of Cape Town. Read more

Production note

All the fruit is harvested by hand and cooled down overnight to 8°C in the cold room. The bunches are sorted, destemmed and a small percentage crushed. All transfers of grape must are attained with the use of gravity which preserves the integrity of the wine. Cold maceration ensues for 3 to 6 days at 8 to 10°C in stainless steel open fermenters.
