Product guide note

This wine comes from a small area called St-Julien in the region of Bordeaux in Southwest France. It is made using the three grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It has flavours of luscious blackcurrant, notes of cedar and spice and is a medium bodied wine.

One of the most famous of St Julien chateaux, Gruaud Larose was ranked as a 2nd Growth in the 1855 classification and has enjoyed an exceptional reputation ever since. It has often being referred to as a Super Second - the group of chateaux thought to represent the very best in Bordeaux after the five First Growths. While the Grand Vin features regularly on our Fine Wine List, the second wine, Larose de Gruaud, is exclusive to Bibendum in the UK.
