Production information

Producer: Lagar de Bezana

Situated in the Cachapoal Valley close to the Andes in Central Chile is the Lagar de Bezana winery. They sit at 650m in the upper part of the valley and are ideally located for even ripening of their grapes through the cold nights and warm days.

Production note

Grapes are hand-picked, after a careful bunch by bunch selection, the grapes were deposited by gravity into small stainless steel tanks without using pumps. Each clone was vinified separately, undergoing a 3-day maceration at 7-10°C prior to fermentation, which took place at 26°-28°C over the course of 10 to 15 days. Alcoholic fermentation was followed by extended maceration time for a total of 30 days of skin contact prior to pressing. Once malolactic fermentation was complete, 100% of the wine for each clone was aged separately in French oak barrels for 20 months. The blending of clones was carried out just two weeks before bottling.
