Product guide note

The grape variety used to make this is Pinot Gris which is the same grape as Pinot Grigio. However, because of how it is made and the ripeness of the grapes this wine is richer and has lots of ripe, tropical fruit, spiciness and some crisp citrus fruit.

Production note

The Pinot Gris was sourced from three blocks. The vineyards have a range of soil types from free draining clay loam and stones to sandy and clay soils, to very stoney alluvial silts in Rapaura. The grapes were harvested by hand. Both vineyards achieved excellent ripeness and flavour with grapes reaching 23.5 to 24.0 Brix. A large portion was fermented using wild yeasts. Over fifty percent has been partially fermented and matured in neutral French oak.
