One of very few appellations in the Loire to produce almost exclusively red wines, Chinon provides a wine with jammy red fruit and toasty character with a long elegant finish.

Producer: Domaine Charles Joguet

Charles Joguet was a legend of the Loire. He had an artists temperment with a strong commitment to family tradition, splitting his time between his life as an artist in Paris and Sazilly, a small village just outside of Chinon. He made lovely wines with the Cabernet Franc – fresh and ripe unique Loire character, sought after around the world. Charles retired in 1992 and now Anne-Charlotte Genet has taken over the helm, bringing in a new winemaker, Kevin Fontaine.

Production note

The grapes are harvested manually. It's then cold macerated, fermentated at 22°C, maceration of approximately 12 to 20 days. It is matured for 10 months in vats.
