Its intense, attractive nose offers aromas of black fruit such as blueberries, blackberries, and ripe plums with noticeable spiced accents of black pepper, nutmeg, and cloves intermingled with subtle floral and caramel notes. Intense vanilla and smoke aromas combine with light wood and leather notes, all from barrel aging. This wine has lovely juicy tannins on the palate.

Production note

The grapes are hand-picked and taken carefully to the winery where they were inspected on a sorting table then gently de-stemmed to prevent the berries from breaking. A 3–day pre-fermentation maceration takes place before 100% of the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. During fermentation, 4 to 6 pumpovers to move 50% to 100% of the volume, as determined by enological tasting. 70% of the wine is aged for 8–10 months in oak barrels.
