Product guide note

This wine is from the Loire valley in France and is a light simple white with citrus and apple flavours. Muscadet is both the name of the region where this wine is from and the name of the grape variety. It has a bit of richness from being aged in barrel for a short period of time.

Production information

Producer: Chereau Carre

The Chereau family are no Johnny-come-lately’s to the Muscadet business; they can trace their history in the Muscadet area all the way back to 1412. However, the business only really took off after the Second World War with the purchase of more vineyards and the Chateau de Chasseloir property which still houses the cellars.

Production note

The wine making is exclusively sur lie. The batonnage brings more fruit and complexity to the wine. The wine is bottled at the beginning of spring following the harvest.
