Product guide note

Red wine from the Bordeaux region of France is known as Claret. This Claret is a quality blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the commune of Pauillac. It has aromas of smoky red and black berries and flavours of plums, cherries, cedar and tobacco with a fresh after taste.

Production information

Producer: Chateau Pibran

With all the hype surrounding top class Bordeaux, few Pauillac chateaux get to fly under the radar but Pibran is one of them. This fact is all the more surprising given that the owners are AXA Millesime and the wine is made by the great Jean-Rene Matignon at Chateau Pichon-Baron. Tour de Pibran is the Chateau’s second wine but Jean-Rene makes it with the same care and attention he gives the Grand Vin at Pichon-Baron. The result is an excellent value example of Pauillac’s world famous terroir.

Production note

Traditional vinification in inert stainless steel, thermo-regulated vats. The grapes were macerated over 2 or 3 weeks. The wine was then aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
