Product guide note

Sauternes is the area of France where this wine is from. It is made to go with dessert so matches the richness and sweetness found in this kind of food. It should always be served chilled and is very sweet with honeyed, tropical fruit flavours.

Production information

Producer: Chateau du Levant

Chateau de Levant is the second wine of Chateau Liot, an excellent Barsac property located very close to Chateau Climens. The property has 21ha of vines with a heavy bias towards Semillon and smaller proportions of Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. Made from the estate’s younger vines, the Chateau de Levant bottling is completely unoaked producing a very fresh, pure expression of Sauternes with the emphasis firmly on the fruit.

Production note

Botrytis affected grapes were handpicked after several sortings. Lightly crushed and fermented in stainless steel. Traditional winemaking methods are used and the wine is aged for 18 months in stainless steel tanks.
