Chateau d'Arche Sauternes Grand Cru Classé 2010

Product code: 69089

The nose opens with white fruit (pear and apple) and floral notes. When swirled, notes of preserves appear - candied orange, apricot jam, accompanied by a subtle smokiness. On the palate, the attack is both fresh, soft and mineral. The minerality brings tension and finesse embellished by very pure candied notes. The finish is long and distinguished.

Production information

Producer: Chateau d'Arche

Chateau d’Arche was established in 1580 by Henry d’Arche, dean of the city of Bordeaux. At the time, his wines were already some of the most famous Sauternes. During the 1789 Revolution, the chateau was taken over by the state and it was another two centuries before the estate was reunied. Located in the heights of Sauternes, in the south of Gironde, the chateau covers 40ha, with winemaker Jerome Cosson producing Grand Cru Classe Sauternes. Read more

Production note

The grapes are picked from the end of September to the end of October - selecting only botrytised grapes (4-5 pickings). Grapes are then pressed with a vertical wine-press dating from 1935 before being fermented for up to 1 month.
