Product guide note

This wine comes from Pessac Leognan in Bordeaux and is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The aromas are aromatic and the wine has intense flavours of stone fruit and green pepper. It is complex and pure with hints of oak and a smooth silky mouth feel. A powerful wine.

Producer: Chateau Couhins-Lurton

Bought by Bordeaux legend Andre Lurton in the mid-1960s Chateau Couhins-Lurton is Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves, and is famous for its excellent white wine. Unusually, the white is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, with about half aged in oak barrels.

Production note

Harvested by hand in several passes. Fermentation after pressing and settling, in oak barrels (30% new) at 18-23°C. Maturation for 10-12 months in oak barrels on full lees with ba^tonnage.
