Production information

Producer: Castello Banfi

Castello Banfi is a household name as far as Brunello di Montalcino is concerned. Although family owned, it is the largest contiguous estate in Europe, combining a sense of tradition with a modern and commercial perspective and has helped bring Montalcino to the world’s attention in less than 20 years.

Production note

The alcoholic fermentation of the grapes lasts for 8 to 12 days at 24-26°C until the last 3 days when the temperature is brought up to 30°C. Once this first phase is completed, the malolactic fermentation proceeds taking place in French oak barrique where the wine is aged for a long period. An appropriate bottle fining follows.
