This is made from the grape variety Aglianico, which is a speciality of southern Italy. It is a big and bold wine with flavours and aromas of cherries, currants and an interesting hint of mint.

Bisceglia wines are all about the concentration and intensity of flavour that you can find in Southern Italy today. Based in the Lavello area known for its fine Aglianico, they have 30ha of prime Basilicata real estate planted on the region's famous, dark volcanic soils.

Production note

The grapes are picked at the end of October and immediately destalked. They spend 4 to 5 days of cold maceration over the skins in small temperature regulated fermentation vats at 18 to 20°C, with daily mixing pressing. This wine is put in steel vats for 12 months and subsequently bottled for at least 4 months
