Production information

Producer: Alois Lageder

Located in the German-speaking village of Magreid in the mountains of Alto Adige, Lageder runs his domaine on a completely sustainable basis. The vines (which have been farmed biodynamically since 2004) enjoy a long, sunny growing season with warm days and cool nights that help to preserve both the grapes' natural aromas and acidity.

Production note

The south facing ‘Rain’ vineyard is located on the western slope of the Adige river valley, in Penon above the village of Cortaccia with an altitude of 520 to 550 metres (1,710 – 1,810 ft). Sandy, gravely moraine soil with a high limestone content and a rather cool mesoclimate with important day and night temperature variations. Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on the fine lees for 4 months.
