This is made from Pinot Noir, which is more commonly known in Italy as Pinot Nero. It is a light and refreshing style of Pinot Noir, which black cherry and spicy flavours. It is quite a subtle and elegant wine.

Producer: Alois Lageder

Located in the German-speaking village of Magreid in the mountains of Alto Adige, Lageder runs his domaine on a completely sustainable basis. The vines (which have been farmed biodynamically since 2004) enjoy a long, sunny growing season with warm days and cool nights that help to preserve both the grapes' natural aromas and acidity.

Production note

This wine is harvested from different vineyards in the Mazzon area above the village of Egna at an altitude of 300 to 450 meters (980 - 1,500 ft). Sandy, chalky and loamy soils with a quite cool mesoclimate. Fermentation and extended maceration in stainless steel tanks. Maturation for 15 months in large casks (Slovenian oak).
