Bought by Bordeaux legend Andre Lurton in the mid-1960s Chateau Couhins-Lurton is Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves, and is famous for its excellent white wine. Unusually, the white is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, with about half aged in oak barrels. A small estate with just 6ha of vines, wine is produced on a boutique scale with quality maintained by consultant Denis Dubourdieu, Professor of Oenology at Bordeaux University and one of the world’s leading authorities on white winemaking.
