This is Bohrmann's old vine monopole and it is one of the best bang per buck white Burgundies we know about. Already bottled and just about ready to drink now it was open and ripe with zesty, white peach fruit and bags of refreshment on the finish.

The grapes are crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is lightly fined and filtered before bottling.
Around 20% of the blend is aged for around 9 months in new oak barrels, with the rest aged in a mixture of older oak and tanks.

This wine is from the Burgundy region of France. It is made from 100% Chardonnay but is very different to wines made from this grape in hotter countries. It is a good combination of minerality and rich, peach flavours.

A small domaine that is owned and run by a Belgian family, this is one of our favourite Burgundian producers. The domaine is run by Sofie Bohrmann with one eye on world domination. Starting with a few acres of Bourgogne Blanc and Rouge, they then purchased the wonderful monopole Clos sous le Chateau in St Romain followed by parcels in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. They continue to search for parcels of prime vineyard land and there were whispers of some 1er Crus to come when we last visited.
