Pale gold colour. Voluptuous honeyed apricot and aromatic floral notes on the nose. Full bodied, dry & intense with further apricot and hints of dried fruits. A long silky finish.
Fermentation at 18-20c for 10 days in stainless steel tanks and a small part (10 to 15%) in new barrels. Malolactic fermentation in spring following the harvest. Fined and filtered before bottling.

This wine has lovely peach and apricot aromas and flavours, and is a full-bodied white, so has a rich and creamy feel in the mouth. There’s also just a hint of spiciness as well. Condrieu is the most famous area of the Rhône for producing white wines.

Making Condrieu is making wine on the edge of reason. The slopes are steeper than most people would want to walk up, the winds are downright hostile - and dangerously damaging too. It makes you wonder why Robert Niero gave up a career in banking to take it up. The slopes vary from 25° to 40° with a south or South-eastern aspect. Warm mornings, hot afternoons and cool evenings are the norm - just what is needed to ripen Viognier fully without sacrificing acidity.
