The 29 Gigondas is concentrated, with good structure and great tannins that will guarantee long ageing. Characteristics of mint, lavender, gingerbread, blackberry, violet and pepper, are all very prominent and held together with this underlying balance and acidity.

Jigondas Shatoh de San Kom
This is a big and bold red wine from the Southern Rhône region in France. It has powerful flavours of black fruits and spice. The word Gigondas refers to the town in the Rhône that this wine is from, which is a common way of naming wines in France.
Mint, lavender, gingerbread, blackberry, violet and pepper, are all held together with underlying balance and acidity.

St Cosme is without doubt one of the very best producers in France, let alone the southern Rhone.
The winery dates back to 1490 and owns some of the oldest vines in the Southern Rhone. Winemaker Louis Barruol’s family have owned the estate for generations but it is only under his guidance that it has started to fulfil its potential.
Louis is an evangelist for the terroir of Gigondas and produces several single-vineyard wines to demonstrate its variety and quality. All the wines, from the humble Cote du Rhone to the incredible Gigondas Valbelle, are treated with the same care and attention, technical precision and artistry.
The domaine’s wines are labelled Chateau St Cosme but there are also a number of excellent negociant wines labelled simply ‘St Cosme’.
