The quality of the fruit is superb, the wine is profound, round, with a deep colour. Flavour of graphite, strawberry compote, liquorish, lilacs.

San Kosmay Koat du Roan
This wine is from the Rhône region in France and is made from the Syrah grape variety (also known as Shiraz). Syrah usually has aromas of peppery spice and this wine certainly does. It is a full bodied wine with smoky aromas and flavours of blackberries.
Medium bodied Syrah that has a very distinct black pepper notes and a well rounded finish.

St Cosme is without doubt one of the very best producers in France, let alone the southern Rhone.
The winery dates back to 1490 and owns some of the oldest vines in the Southern Rhone. Winemaker Louis Barruol’s family have owned the estate for generations but it is only under his guidance that it has started to fulfil its potential.
Louis is an evangelist for the terroir of Gigondas and produces several single-vineyard wines to demonstrate its variety and quality. All the wines, from the humble Cote du Rhone to the incredible Gigondas Valbelle, are treated with the same care and attention, technical precision and artistry.
The domaine’s wines are labelled Chateau St Cosme but there are also a number of excellent negociant wines labelled simply ‘St Cosme’.
