" Apparently a small proportion of this fruit, some of the most fashionable in New Zealand currently, was fermented using ambient yeast in old French oak - trendy! It is certainly an interesting, lightly funky wine that should not disappoint the true wine lover. Off dry and really quite like a relatively late picked Alsace wine. The grape variety used to make this is Pinot Gris which is the same grape as Pinot Grigio. However, because of how it is made and the ripeness of the grapes this wine is richer and has lots of ripe, tropical fruit, spiciness and some crisp citrus fruit.
