Pungently aromatic, this is a cocktail of fruit with a tropical melon base. This is a light bodied wine with a vibrancy and brightness, accompanied by a mineral salt note, not unlike sea salt in taste but certainly in its magnifying effects of flavour. The finish has a citrus like minerality and grapefruit pith texture.
The juice was extracted and clarified prior to a warm fermentation with aromatic yeast strains. After a brief ageing period the wine was bottled and released.

This wine is made from the grape Sauvignon Blanc, which is grown all over the world but makes really great wines in New Zealand. It is fresh and zesty with citrus flavours and some ripe melon notes.

Te Awa is a single estate situated in the Gimblet Gravels area of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand’s premium red wine producing area. Hotter than Bordeaux and with similar gravely soils to Graves, it is unsurprising that this region produces fine examples of Bordeaux blends with some exciting Chardonnay and Syrah to boot. If you didn’t think New Zealand could make red wines (that weren’t Pinot Noir) think again!
The full Maori name given to the site is Te Awa o Te Atua, which means 'River of God', a reference to the mysterious subterranean streams over which the vineyards are situated and from which the wines draw a lot of their character.
