Decanter
De-stemmed, crushed chilled to less than 5c then pressed. Cold settled in stainless steel then racked to fermentation tanks. Cool fermentation over six weeks at 10-13c. Gentle filtration.
Petalooma Hanlin Hill Reezling
This is a dry wine made from Riesling grapes grown in Petaluma’s Hanlin Hill vineyard in the Clare Valley. Here at high altitude and with a south facing aspect the temperatures are cool and well suited to developing intense flavours. It has concentrated and refreshing aromas of limes with floral hints and crisp green apple flavours with honey and mineral notes.

Petaluma had one aim when it was founded in the late 1970s, to create the best possible wines from South Australia. Seeking out the finest vineyard sites rather than taking a one-site-fits-all approach to its grapes.
Naturally, the search for a Cabernet vineyard took Petaluma to the Terra Rossa soils of Coonawarra. Similarly, the quest for a Riesling site led the team to the Clare Valley. Petaluma pioneered production in the Adelaide Hills and the Piccadilly Valley, which provide Chardonnay of great purity and concentration, including the legendary Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay.
This multi-regional approach may be unusual but it ensures that each of Petaluma’s wines represents the very best that Australia can produce. With great ageing potential these wines are lauded as one of Australia’s answers to European fine wine.
