The colour is a translucent deep crimson attributed to small berries and use of the crushing technique. This Rosé smells of intense strawberry which follows on to the palate with length and juiciness so typical of Adelaide Hills cool climate wines.

Pinot Noir is usually used to make a light red or rosé wine, but because this has been grown in a hot country is has more intense fruity flavours. It combines cherry and raspberry aromas with a slight earthiness that make it a great wine to match with food.
Sweet strawberries and fresh raspberries with a splash of blackcurrant to make this a great rose for any food.

Naturally, the search for a Cabernet vineyard took Petaluma to the Terra Rossa soils of Coonawarra. Similarly, the quest for a Riesling site led the team to the Clare Valley. Petaluma pioneered production in the Adelaide Hills and the Piccadilly Valley, which provide Chardonnay of great purity and concentration, including the legendary Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay.
This multi-regional approach may be unusual but it ensures that each of Petaluma’s wines represents the very best that Australia can produce. With great ageing potential these wines are lauded as one of Australia’s answers to European fine wine.
