The Centenarias has lovely aromas of dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums. Powerful, clean and fresh, with the well integrated French oak providing some rich, roasted flavours in the background.
Criomaceration, alcoholic fermentation and maceration after alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Not fined or filtered.

Tempranillo is a indigenous grape variety of Spain which is often used to make Rioja. This wine is full of dark fruit flavours, such as blackberries and plums. It is a powerful, full bodied wine with some notes of vanilla which come from this wien being aged in oak barrels.

For people who enjoy big, bold wines that really pack a punch. For many who enjoy similar wines it’s a case of the bigger the better!
Started in 2003 by a group of growers who all own vineyards in the Zamorana de Toro area, the grouped form with idea of creating something special from their collective vineyards. The criteria, they all had vineyards with vines of over 40 years old, with a significant amount hitting 100 years of age.
With consultant winemaker Roza Zarza (ex-winemaker at Matarredonda) on board the outcome of the grouping is really superb. With Rosa’s help, they have managed to tame the tannic, wild side of Tinto de Toro and enhance the concentrated fruit and power of these old vines, at a price we can all afford.
