Owner of one of Rome's most famous enotecas, Piero Costantini bought this estate in 1980 wanting to make the best possible Frascati. A side project to begin with, it has grown in importance as the wines' reputation spread. Extensive replanting, replacing Trebbiano with the more characterful Malvasia, and the renovation of the cellar with all mod cons, have all played a part in the estate's regeneration and as the vines mature, so the concentration and depth of the wines improves.
