Alois Lageder
Located in the German speaking village of Magreid in the mountains of Alto Adige, Lageder runs his domaine on a completely sustainable basis. The vines (which were converted to biodynamics in 2004) enjoy a long, sunny growing season with warm days and cool nights that help to preserve both the grapes' natural aromas and acidity.
The range of wines is typical of the region; crisp, aromatic whites, with a swathe of single varietal wines with differing levels of intensity. The house style is all about freshness, elegance and purity of fruit, these are finely chiselled wines with real definition, but immense charm too.
At the top of the range, the single vineyard estates are fantastic expressions of both grape and terroir and display the elegance and focus that are the hallmarks of great Alto Adige wines.
