Medium-bodied floral red with violets and cherry blossom bursting into bloom on the nose. The palate is fresh and racy with a fine weight of crisp red and black fruit, cinnamon spice and ripe, savoury tannins.
Old traditional vinification method and processed in membrane presses. The fermentation takes place in controlled temperatures with prolonged maceration on the skins.

Like a lot of wines from Europe this wine is named after the region where it is from. Chianti is a region in Tuscany, Italy. It is made from the Sangiovese grape (pronounced Sanjee-oh-vayzee) and has refreshing, red cherry flavours.
Soft and generous, with ripe cherry notes on the nose and palate and a savoury edge to the tannins.

Castellani has over a century of winemaking history in Tuscany, exporting its wines since 1903 from the family base near Pisa. Still family owned and managed by Piergiorgio Castellani, this Tuscan empire now includes five separate estates dotted around the region, from the Fattoria di Travalda in the Arno valley, to the Campomaggio vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico.
There is even the recent addition of a resort nestling in the hills of the Poggio al Casone estate, complete with amazing vineyard, olive grove views and turquoise blue pool.
Despite the long history and sense of tradition, the Castellani team employ the latest oenological techniques and have carried out extensive research into Sangiovese clones to further advance the Chianti cause. Their vision is to create the best wines possible, blending a sense of place and tradition with these modern winemaking practices.
