McLaren Vale

McLaren Vale is just to the south of Adelaide, and has a wine industry founded on the heavy port style reds which were prescribed as tonics. Some fine fortified wines are still made in this area, though the sea breezes which cool the vineyards create some fine balanced reds and fresh whites.
