Stellenrust

Stellenrust bottled their first wine on the farm in 1928.  Today the winery is run by the brothers Tertius (winemaker) and Kobus (viticulturist), and is one of the largest family run Fairtrade Estates in Stellenbosch, with 500ha under vine.   The brothers are committed to following their father’s dream -  to give back to the workers, who themselves had given so much to the farm.

Stellenrust now boasts one of the biggest and most successful BEE project in South Africa, empowering 70 farm workers on their own piece of land.  Tertius himself puts it more eloquently – “These are the men and women we grew up with, we played together when we were young and now we work together towards the same dream and goal.”
