Pago de Valdoneje
Boutique winemaking from Castilla y Leon
Bodega Vinos Valtuille is based in the Bierzo region of Castilla y Leon, where the main grape variety is Mencia. This interesting grape enjoys cult status in Spain due to its unique character, immense power, dense garnet colour but beautiful acidity and clarity.
The Mencia grapes at Vinos Valtuille are grown in some of the region’s finest terroir, amongst 3 or 4 vineyards high up in the hills of Valtuille, where all the vines are aged between 60 and 100 years old.
Like much of our new Spanish range, the wines of Vinos Valtuille would simply be impossible to produce anywhere else in the world, due to the age of these vines, the quality of the winemakers and the relatively low cost of production in Spain.
