Knappstein

Knappstein is one of the biggest names in the Clare Valley, perhaps Australia's most enigmatic wine region. Home to both full-bodied rich reds and lean, lemony Riesling, Clare's split personality takes on a bit of Bordeaux, a bit of Alsace and a dash of the Rhone - all with a distinctive Aussie accent.

The Knappstein philosophy is to simply produce the best handcrafted wine and beer possible from the Clare Valley. Located in the heritage listed Enterprise Brewery, established in 1878, Knappstein is steeped in the tradition of the region.

Glen Barry is the man in charge at Knappstein, and having learnt his trade through time completing vintages in Italy, Canada, and Napa, this winemaker really knows his stuff!
