Gran Clos

Gran Clos is one of the stars of the Priorat region, getting big scores and winning awards wherever the wines turn up. Made from century old vines by local boy done good, Josep Angel Maestre, the wines are classic Priorat: intense, full-bodied and concentrated with that stony minerality that reminds you of the area's crazy mountainous, rugged terroir.

Further recognition of the outstanding quality came in 2005 when Gran Clos beat all the region's biggest names including Clos Erasmus, Finca Dofi and Clos Mogador, to come top in a 'ten years on' tasting of the 1995 vintage. Both of their wines are incredibly impressive examples of one of Spain's finest and most exciting regions.
