Dominio de Valdepusa
Amazing, pioneering estate from Toledo
Dominio de Valdepusa is the historic family estate of Carlos Falco, the Marquis de Grinon. It is one of just 10 Pago domaines in Spain – estates that have their very own DO. It focuses on international grapes made in a modern, breathtaking style. No expense is spared in the vineyard or cellar in search of perfection and the list of people involved over the years reads like a 'who's who' of the wine world, including such luminaries as Richard Smart, Emile Peynaud and Michel Rolland.
Producing wines from classic varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah, alongside Spanish varieties such as Garnacha, the wines of Valdepusa are big and bold. Packed full of ripe red fruits, slick, silky tannins and oozing elegance, these cracking wines are great examples of the quality that Spain is producing, even in a lesser known region such as Montes de Toledo.

Carlos Falco
A grandee of the Spanish aristocracy, the Marques is an unlikely rebel. After studying oenology in California in the 1970s, Carlos was forced to battle and defy bureaucracy in order to fulfil his dream of making top quality Cabernet at his estate near Madrid.
