Domaine de Valliere
Top-class Burgundy from the Roux brothers
Domaine de Valliere is owned by the Roux family who are based in St Aubin. The family’s winemaking heritage stretches back to 1855 and it now owns over 70ha of vineyards, across the Cote d’Or, making it one of the largest independent domaines in Burgundy. The domaine owns vineyards in most of the main appellations, all the way up to Grand Cru.
The current team in charge of production consists of brothers Mathieu (winemaking) and Sebastian (the business side of the domaine) and their drive and energy has seen a notable rise in quality. A fantastic, modern cellar has been built overlooking St Aubin village and the business’ negociant arm extended to include ever more wines.

Explaining the Crus
All Burgundy’s vineyards are ranked according to the quality of the wines they produce. The very best are the ‘Grand Cru’ vineyards with the ‘1er Cru’ sites just behind. The wines usually include the name of the vineyard on the label and are highly sought-after.
