Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron
Exceptional Pauillac from one of Bordeaux’s biggest names
Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron with its fairytale castle and the mock-classical architecture of its new winery is one of the best known properties in the Medoc. Owned by AXA Millesime and managed by the perma-bow tied Christian Seely, it is rightly regarded as one of the ‘Super Seconds’, the group of chateaux thought to represent the very best in Bordeaux after the five First Growths.
The second wine, Les Tourelles de Longueville is made from the same vineyard every year. The Sainte-Anne vineyard lies adjacent to Chateaux Batailley and Pichon-Lalande as well as a plot used for Forts du Latour.
The Rosé de Tourelles can justifiably claim to be one of the world’s best pink wines as it is made from juice run off from tanks of the Grand Vin. 2nd Growth Rosé!

Screwcaps in Bordeaux?
Rather unusually for Bordeaux, a high proportion of Les Tourelles is bottled under screwcap which keeps the wine TCA-free and the juice fresher and brighter for longer. Kudos to the chateau its enlightened approach.
