Bouchard Aine & Fils
One of the Burgundy’s most famous producers
Bouchard Aine et Fils are one of Burgundy’s foremost negociants, with a history stretching back over 250 years. Based in a beautiful mansion house premises in central Beaune, Bouchard’s little black book is bursting with some of the region’s best growers in vineyards across the region.
The range includes wines from the top appellations in the Cote d’Or as well as brilliant value wines from the Cote Chalonnaise and Maconnais. In 2008 the company extended out of its Burgundy base for the first time, producing wines from the South of France. The winemaking style places an emphasis on approachable, bright fruit that does not need many years of slumber below the stairs, making the wines a superb prospect for immediate listings.

What’s a negociant?
There are two main types of producers in Burgundy: negociants who make wine from rented vines or from purchased grapes, and domaines who produce wines from vines they own. Some producers do both, often under different labels.
