Producer Information
William Fevre himself was a tireless champion of Chablis, vigorously opposing the extension of the appellation's boundaries beyond the kimmeridgian soils and attacking those from elsewhere on the planet who dared used the C-word on their labels. His wines were similarly robust with Fevre famously using more new oak than was the accepted norm in his wines. In 1998, he sold the domaine to Champagne house Henriot, who also owned Beaune's Bouchard Pere et Fils. Despite the loss of Fevre the man, Fevre the domain has flourished under Henriot's stewardship with dynamic winemaker Didier Seguier turning the dials down on the oak a little to craft slightly wines that are more classically Chablis in style and which offer perhaps the finest value in the region.
Tasting Note
'A clean, fresh and airy nose that offers good chablis character on a white flower and green fruit nose that introduces delicious energetic and mineral-infused flavours.' Burghound 88pts
